The Archbishop and the Bishop of Gozo have appointed a committee which will be in charge of celebrating the Special Jubilee year dedicated to the apostle St Paul in Malta.
The Jubilee year to St Paul was launched by Pope Benedict XVI to mark the 2,000th anniversary of his birth, which historians date to between 10-7 BC. The year is to be celebrated between 28 June this year and 29 June next year.
The committee of the archdiocese of Malta and the diocese of Gozo is led by Mgr Charles Cordina, pastoral secretary of the archdiocese. The members include Grace Cilia; Fr Jesmond Manicaro; Mgr Gwann Azzopardi; Fr Alfred Vella; Fr Tony Sciberras MSSP; Joe Camilleri; Fr Alfred Camilleri; Fr. Joe Cilia OFM Conv; Fr Frank Bajada, Alfred Grech: Juanita Formosa and Joyce Cassar.
The committee met for the first time at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana yesterday, eve of the feast of the conversion of St Paul.
