The Kintish Experience: Learning The tangible art of business networking

Malta Independent Saturday, 26 January 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Business networking is vital for the growth and survival of any business in today’s highly competitive world. Having a good product or service to sell is not enough if one cannot garner the potential clients to sell it to.

The subject has become one of the most discussed issues in the business world today with some top business schools abroad also including the subject in their curricula. But how does one acquire the skill here in Malta? Another question that comes also to mind is whether the individual has to have a natural talent for networking or whether it could be learnt.

This and other questions will be tackled during a practical seminar to be delivered by Mr Will Kintish, a world authority on this particular subject, at the Westin Dragonara Hotel on Tuesday 4 March between 9am – 5pm. For those who have already had the opportunity to attend last year’s Experience in Malta, he has proved inspirational. His unique presentation method is also most entertaining with hands on participation by the attendees.

After running over 3,300 hours of business networking training and giving training presentations to over 31,000 people around the world, Mr Kintish can show how to generate new business leads the easy way. He goes beyond the “join a golf club” and concentrates on what to do after an initial contact, such as how to follow up leads and especially how to sell yourself first, before you can sell your product and /or service.

Mr Kintish emphasizes that “Being a confident and effective networker sets one apart from the crowd. That person becomes more visible, always feels in control, and will always create more business opportunities than others. On top, the ability to network is also an essential tool for personal social enrichment. Notwithstanding its value, networking is dreaded by most people.”

As the seminar organisers, Mr George Farrugia, a director of MGI Finconsult Ltd believes that in every person there is the necessary potential to become an effective networker benefiting from the great advantages that networking can provide. He said: “Mr Kintish’s mission in his seminars is to help participants become more confident and effective business networkers by divulging the simple tools to help them destroy all those fears of working the room, helping them to be in control, break the ice and start a conversation with strangers.

He will be showing participants how to approach the appropriate people within a room full of strangers, break into groups and move on with ease and consideration. Above all, this seminar will ensure that delegates leave every event with a potential business opportunity, revealing to them how to raise their profile and meet more people.”

Last year’s first Kintish Experience in Malta was very well received as can be seen from the positive feedback received. Anyone interested to learn more about what local attendees had to say about the Kintish Experience are invited to visit the MGI web site at www.mgimalta. com.

The Kintish Experience should be a day to remember for anyone attending. In view of the hands on approach used by Mr Kintish, participation will be limited and acceptance is on first come first served basis.
