The Union Haddiema Maghqudin’s Health Services Division registered a lack of agreement with the Organisation for the Integration and Welfare of Asylum Seekers (OIWAS) about the working conditions of those who work with them as carers. The OIWAS is an organisation that takes care of refugees and their families and falls under the responsibility of the Social Policy Ministry.
“Despite representations that the division made to the OIWAS, there was no improvement of the working conditions of these workers. In these circumstances, the Union Haddiema Maghqudin has no path to take but to meet with the carers working with the OIWAS to plan the industrial actions that need to be taken. This meeting shall take place within the next few days,” said a division spokesperson.
