At around 2am yesterday, the police were informed that a car had fallen from Ghar Dalam Street (Bir id-Deheb) in Zejtun.

The car, a Mitsubishi Pajero driven by a 20-year-old woman from Birzebbuga, had fallen into a trench the height of about two storeys. An ambulance was called and Civil Protection Department personnel went on site immediately to help remove the driver from the car and lift her out of the ditch. The woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where her condition was described as not critical.

A police inquiry is currently underway.
