A 31-year-old Tunisian man pleaded not guilty yesterday to grievously injuring a man and driving dangerously in City Gate on Sunday around 8pm.

Before magistrate Antonio Mizzi, Saleh Ali Missawi Ali Abel Fetah, pleaded not guilty to grievously injuring a man without the intent of putting his life in danger, assaulting him and causing less than €1,164.67 (Lm500) in damages to the owner of a kiosk at City Gate. He was also charged with dangerous driving at the same place and time and breaching the peace.

Fetah, who resides in Qawra, also pleaded not guilty to stealing a wallet which containing €200 on 17 February at City Gate.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.

Police Inspector James Grech prosecuted while Dr Joe Brincat appeared for the accused.
