Alan Stivala of Senglea won the Grand Prize of a Lenovo Laptop in the Varta Competition.

The Varta Competition commenced on 1 August 2007 and ran till 31 January 2008. Varta offered a mixture of daily prizes, including Varta High Energy Fans and Mobile Phone Emergency Chargers: monthly prizes of Praktica Digital Video Cameras with the Grand Prize of a Lenovo Laptop at the end of the Promotion.

Purchasers of Varta Alkaline Batteries, Rechargeable Battery Packs, Torches, Flashlights, Head Lights and Chargers were given a free Scratch Card that contained a Varta Code and this entitled the participants to enter a competition and be selected for a prize.

O&V Ltd. of Triq Dun Karm, B’Kara, agents for Varta in Malta, organised and handled the promotion.
