Island Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Tonio Aquilina as Food & Beverage Manager of the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa.
Tonio Aquilina graduated in Hotel and Catering management from the Institute of Tourism Studies. He moved to York, England to gain experience where he carried out general hotel manager duties.
On his return to Malta he joined the Dolmen Hotel and worked his way up to Food and Beverage Manager and subsequently Business Development Manager. During this period he also spent a year as Junior Food and Beverage Manager at the Bellevue Palace Hotel, a leading world hotel in Berne, Switzerland.
Tonio then joined Mgarr Hotel, gaining experience in the 5-star market, a post he occupied for three years as Operations Manager. When Mgarr Hotel closed its doors, Tonio moved to Grand Hotel Mercure San Antonio as Operations Manager.
Tonio is very excited about his new position with Island Hotels Group and with his qualities and extensive experience in the sector is expected to add immediate added value to the food and beverage brigade at the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa.
