In a recent competition, held in Bertinoro Italy, Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort Malta sous chef Marco Cutajar participated in Premio Gastronomico Europeo 2007. This festival was held in the prestigious Belvedere Restaurant and creates opportunities for many talented chefs to have a gastronomical and cultural exchange of ideas and interests.
Marco, representing the tastes of Malta, created a wonderful Mediterranean menu. Each dish was largely appraised for his attention to detail, to the contrast of colour and texture. “A real work of art” as quoted by Ristorante Belvedere owners; who added, “Marco has a great skill of working with intense concentration that clearly communicates what is his objective without ever appearing tense or under too much pressure.” Marco also received ample praise in various Italian publications so this experience served very well to him.
Commenting about this achievement, Ernest Barry, General Manager of the Resort said, “We are all very proud of Marco’s success. It goes on to show that Maltese chefs can excel on the international stage and successfully compete against their foreign counterparts.”
