The new Emirates’ Boeing 777-300 landed at Malta International Airport on Friday at 2pm after it flew from Dubai to Malta via Larnaca, Cyprus.
Offering a total of 358 seats in a three-class configuration as well as 18 tonnes of cargo capacity from Malta to Dubai, via Larnaca in Cyprus, the new aircraft is replacing the B777-200 which was initially introduced last year in May.
Emirates currently flies five times a-week from Dubai to Malta, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The route connects Malta to more than 99 cities in 62 countries through Emirates’ international hub in Dubai.
Paul Fleri Soler, Manager for Malta and Cyprus, said: “Malta and Cyprus are becoming an attraction for holidaymakers from Australia, Far East and the Middle East seeking to explore the historical sites of these two Mediterranean islands. Demand for passenger and cargo capacity into and out of these two countries is increasing. We are confident the additional capacity on Emirates’ Boeing 777-300 will be welcomed by both travellers and shippers alike.”
Designed for optimum comfort on long-haul travel, the Boeing 777-300 carries 12 in First Class, 42 passengers in Business class and offers generous space and more comfort for 304 passengers in Economy class.
The seats also feature over 600 channels of “ice” movies, with the latest and best movies, TV, audio and games from around the world and the ability to send and receive emails and text messages from the in-seat entertainment system. Passengers can also keep in touch with live business, news and sports headlines from BBC News.
