When Babies come with instructions

Malta Independent Monday, 5 May 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Nestlè Malta’s Mio Mummy and Baby Club is growing from strength to strength. Barely seven months after its inception, the club already boasts over 1,200 members, making it one of the most active mother and baby clubs in Malta.

“This is quite a milestone project for Nestlè Malta especially when one takes into consideration that just around 3,800 babies are born in Malta every year,” states Nestlè Malta’s spokesperson for the MIO Brand. “From the information we had gathered from club members last year we had found out that a growing number of parents want to become more knowledgeable about many aspects that concern the everyday development of their babies throughout the various stages of growth. We therefore started compiling an informative bi-monthly newsletter, now in its fifth issue, containing useful and well-researched information about health and nutritional aspects both for the parent and the infant.”

Topics which have featured in the past editions of the Mummy and Baby Club Newsletter have included healthy eating and practical eating plans for the new mother, benefits of breast-feeding, how to massage your baby, play and child development, introducing your baby to solid foods, dental care, vaccines, moving on to solid foods, nutritional needs of toddlers and many more articles, special offers and activities.

Nestlé Malta is currently embarking on a new activity purposely to promote the benefits that may be enjoyed by parents joining this club. Potential members are to collect a Mio Club Application Card from supermarkets, stores and waiting areas in clinics and pharmacies which they can fill in and return to Nestlè Malta. They will in turn receive a Mio Club Member ID Card, a “Mio – All you need to know – essential guidebook” as well as the opportunity to enjoy a number of exclusive offers and discounts on the Mio range offered by Nestlè Malta from time to time. All Mio Club members will receive the bi-monthly newsletter at their home address. New members are also entitled to a Mio Starter Pack which should be collected from Nestlé Malta’s consumer services in Lija.

The Mio Club is launching its new “Mio – All you need to know – essential guidebook” for parents. This 32 page bi-lingual booklet includes information about the Nestlé baby food products, nutrition during pregnancy, the weaning process, your baby’s developmental process, eye vision process, tooth development, important message on breastfeeding and vital tips on how to keep your baby healthy. This booklet can be collected for FREE from all the leading supermarkets and pharmacies.

Nestlé Mio Club wants to provide the necessary support to all parents during the crucial early years of happiness of their baby’s development. Parents are welcome to make use of the free professional advice system that the Mio Club is offering to its members through this email: [email protected]. Any queries related to the young family or infant sent to this email will be tackled by Nestlé Malta’s consultant nutritionist, psychologist or pharmacist free of charge.
