HSBC has signed an agreement with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malta to renew its corporate partnership for the 10th consecutive year. JCI Malta is an organisation of young business leaders and entrepreneurs
The agreement, renewable within two years, provides financial assistance as well as tangible support towards JCI Malta’s varied programmes and projects. These include The Outstanding Young Person Award, and the Best Business Plan (BBP) Competition. Among other initiatives, HSBC specialised staff offer training and guidance to participants of the BBP Competition on how ideas can be developed into profitable business
ventures.
“HSBC is committed to support society’s young contributors to the economy not only by assisting them with the necessary funds to take part in the international forums that are likely to help them grow but also by sharing the trials and errors, as well as the expertise, which a bank like HSBC has acquired over long years of successful operations worldwide,” said Godfrey Swain, HSBC’s head of Personal Financial Services.
“Being associated with a corporate name like HSBC is important for JCI Malta. This agreement enhances the recognition of our work to help members in their self-development to become leaders and entrepreneurs, it also gives us the opportunity to work with real professionals who are the best in class to lead us in the right direction to bring about meaningful change,” said Chris Mallia, JCI Malta president.
JCI’s vice president Rami Majzoub, who was present for the signing of the agreement, thanked HSBC, a world leader in its sector, for lending its support to JCI’s ambitions to build good leaders for a sound future in business.
