HSBC Malta is sponsoring the operatic concert being given by acclaimed soprano Lydia Caruana this coming Sunday at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. The concert is based broadly, but not solely, on music by Giuseppe Verdi and music by Antonin Dvorak. She will be singing with the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra and with singers Peter Berger and Jan Curco, under the direction of Charles Oliveiri Munroe.
“HSBC has been closely following Ms Caruana and has long supported in developing her full potential,” said HSBC’s head of commercial banking, James Dunbar Cousin. “Lydia Caruana is a wonderful soprano and a great cultural ambassador for Malta. We all wish her the very best with her career.”
Ms Caruana expressed her gratitude towards HSBC’s commitment to support high standard performances for Maltese artistes and audiences. “Performing and being appreciated by a Maltese audience is a unique experience which I always cherish,” said Ms Caruana. “Events of this standing need considerable support. It is indeed commendable of HSBC to make them possible, raising the cultural calendar in Malta to the levels of cosmopolitan cities.”
