part in this Comenius Project – Malta, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Greece. Each country is bringing this project to an end with a Comenius Day in the company of a number of teachers from each partner school and exhibitions that are being put up by all those involved.
Malta’s Comenius Day was held on Wednesday, 30 April. Besides the exhibition put up in the Comenius room and welcoming school delegations from Greece, Germany, Holland and Denmark, the students presented a musical extravaganza called “Any Dream will Do.” A week later, a delegation from the Malta school visited the partner school in Thermi (Greece). There was also a festive atmosphere in the Greek school. Different traditional songs were played and sung and all students and teachers put on their dancing shoes and danced to many traditional songs, especially Greek.
The Comenius committee also organised a teacher-pupils visit to Wiesbaden, Germany, one of the partner schools. This visit took place between 12-16 May. The group, made up of 11 children and three teachers, were guests of the Josef-von-Eichendorff Schule in Wiesbdaen. The children participated in a great number of projects assigned to the Comenius project in gastronomy, crafts, drama and sports. The group also had the opportunity to visit Rudesheim, a medieval town on the Rhine and one of the innumerable castles on the Rhine. On the final day of their visit, the group also took part in the Comenius Day celebrations, attended by teacher delegations from the other participating countries, and sang many songs in Maltese.
