Livening Up children’s lives

Malta Independent Thursday, 26 June 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Every year, Consolidated Biscuit Company Limited extends its help to a different philanthropic organisation as part of its ongoing support to sections of society less fortunate than others. This year’s choice fell on the Ursuline Creche in Sliema where a number of children are cared for. The company’s Social Committee met with the nuns who run the creche with so much zeal and fervour, and they were advised of what really needed to be done with some urgency – in particular the bedroom where the children slept. This was in dire need of a new look.

While the management and staff set to work in redecorating the bedroom with brighter colours, two young artists were kept busy drawing and painting some really beautiful designs on the wall in the playground.

The managing director of Consolidated Biscuit, Joseph Pace, thanked all the staff who supported this year’s initiative and mentioned in particular MacPhersons for supplying the paint for the redecoration as well as Angelique Attard and Charlene Muscat for the graphics in the playground. “Without their contribution and that of all the Social Committee and other employees of Consolidated Biscuit, this would not have been possible,” he said.
