Virgin Drinks have come to Malta in four flavours – Virgin Cola, Light Virgin Cola, Virgin Lemon Lime, and Virgin Orange. Packaged in unique “CurV” bottles modelled on the curvaceous body of Pamela Anderson, Virgin Drinks are exclusively imported and distributed in Malta by Borg and Aquilina Ltd.
Last Wednesday, during the launch of the internationally popular carbonated soft drinks at Q Bar, Valletta Waterfront, marketing manager Chris Mamo explained to company management, sales team, merchandising team and logistics team of Borg and Aquilina Ltd that “our objective is to offer Maltese consumers more choice, a taste of unique flavours and an innovative drinking experience ‘the Virgin way’, while injecting excitement and innovation into the marketplace.” The slogan “Only for Cool People” means just that – that Virgin Drinks are meant for the young, cool, hip and trendy, and of course, the young at heart”.
Chris Mamo stated that the popularity of Virgin Drinks is due to the brand putting innovation alongside quality and value, and that the fresh fizzy drinks will attract consumers of all ages.
Steven Borg, general manager of Borg and Aquilina explained that the Virgin brand is another addition to the prestigious brands they already represent. It creates synergy within the company’s strategic plan, the philosophy and the character of Borg and Aquilina because it is a strong, vibrant and challenging brand, with sheer determination. Moreover it will complement the Maltese beverage market by offering a new drink experience, additional choice and value to consumers. The range of drinks will become part and parcel of the Maltese market in a different way to what is currently available.
Virgin Drinks were first launched in the UK in 1994 as one of the many sectors of the Virgin Group, which is synonymous with the unique and innovative ideas of Sir Richard Branson.
Virgin Drinks are now available in 15 countries across the European, Asian and African continents.
