Signal 8 Security Services Inaugurates new premises

Malta Independent Sunday, 27 July 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Signal 8 Security Services Malta Limited has officially opened its new premises in Balzan. This will serve as company offices as well as the International Bodyguard Association training centre, covering the south Mediterranean and North African region. The new offices have been named the “Major Lucien Ott Institute” after the late IBA founder.

Set up to support private entities and the community in general, Signal 8 Security Malta Ltd provides a wide variety of security services that include property security, static guarding, close protection, night club and special event security, consultancy, advise on CCTV and alarm systems, and security equipment.

Signal 8 Security directors J. Cuschieri and J. J. Grech said they believe their operations stand out due to their dedicated supervision of all the company’s contracts. This allows direct feedback on personnel performance in the field, which in turn enables understanding what improvements are required to improve services as dictated by circumstantial factors.

Mr Cuschieri is qualified in Criminology, International Security and Port Security and has also attended and designed training sessions with the US Coast Guard. Mr Grech is national director of IBA Malta and is qualified in threat management, body guarding skills, IED searches and counter surveillance.

IBA’s director general, Baron Jim Castleshortt was also present for the opening of the new premises.

Signal 8 Security takes training on all security aspects and levels very seriously, from guards to door supervisors. This ensures development of the company’s overall performance, helps motivate staff and assures total customer satisfaction.

Employing top professional expertise in this field, site surveys are always carried out prior to an event so as to establish risks that may exist on certain sites, followed by a report indicating the precise security measures that need to be put in place.

Coinciding with the official opening of the Major Lucien Ott Institute, Signal 8 Security held the ‘Ryoi Shinto Ryo’ International JuJitsu Tai Kai, as well as an ‘ International Maritime and Yacht Security Course’ earlier this month.
