The introduction in Malta of the Vinosia wines means an opportunity to wine lovers to experience the ultimate levels in elegance quality and passion in wine making.
The Vinosia wines originate from Irpinia, a region of the Apennine Mountains around Avellino, a town in Campania, South Italy about 40 km east of Naples. The Irpinia has a proud tradition of producing wines such as Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Taurasi, all of which are classified as DOCG.
Vinosia is the result of the passion and experience of Luciano and Mario Ercolino, two brothers dedicated to expressing the potential and character of the region’s wines by putting a modern spin on native varieties.
Marco and Luciano Ercolino state that “when we traveled through the areas where Greco, Fiano or Aglianico is produced, we always find grapes of unique quality, with interesting maturity.”
Among the wines which are produced by Vinosia one finds the Salento Primitivo, Salento Negroamaro, the
Malvasia, Greco di Tufo, Doceassaje, Taurasi and Fiano. Vinosia is imported and distributed in Malta by Casa Vini. Casa Vini represents in Malta a range of wines which have quality and prestige as key ingredients. Max Castagna, the man behind Casa Vini, said that when he was introduced to Vinosia, he realised that he had been introduced to something which goes beyond the concept of a wine company.
In fact Vinosia represents style and a way of living wine. Luca Maroni, the top Italian wine critic, said that two factors are noticed immediately in the glass: passion and quality. Two words, that the vines from Vinosia express at the highest possible levels of worldwide wine-making. “Each glass from Vinosia is a journey, an experience that amazes, a vision”
