The Palace Hotel celebrated World Tourism Day, which this year had the theme “Tourism Responding to the Challenge of Climate Change”, with a series of events.
On this particular day, which is celebrated on 27 September, The Palace donated all the eco-contribution of the day received per guest night to the Sliema local council in aid of environmentally-friendly initiatives in the locality. Throughout the day, guests at The Palace were invited to help themselves to the sumptuous sweet selection prepared by The Palace pastry team in the lobby area.
World Tourism Day is celebrated worldwide to display awareness that tourism is vital to the international community and to show how it affects the social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.
It also provides a reminder on the importance of joining forces to champion the benefits of worldwide travel and on the unique role that travel and sustainable tourism plays within the country.
