Following its acceptance as a full member of the European State Lotteries last July, Maltco Lotteries has now also been accepted as a full member of the World Lotteries Association.

The European Lotteries established in May 1999 provides its members with precise information and sound support regarding the international gaming industry.

With this prestigious recognition, Maltco Lotteries has now joined 35 other international member lotteries committed to act in a responsible, transparent and consistent manner when promoting and administering its games. The objectives of the EL, among others, are:

• To promote effective communication between members, the European and international gaming industry, the institutions of the European Union and European Governments.

• To provide members with precise information and sound support.

• To establish a forum for the exchange of technical and educational experience and information.

Best practices are continuously identified in respect of the various aspects of operations in the lottery sector with a focus on responsible gaming. EL’s approach to responsible gaming is based on the principles of prevention and education policies.

Equally important and similar to EL, the World Lottery Association represents the interests of some 140 government-controlled lotteries from more than 70 countries. As well as providing services to members to help them serve their markets better today and in the future, the WLA’s mission includes also promoting corporate social responsibility in lottery operations while improving the public’s understanding of lotteries’ role in society.

MALTCO being accepted as a member of the EL as well as the WLA is also indicative of its high standards of operations.
