A law student who graduated as a notary got the surprise of her life when she got a call from Gasan Enterprises Ltd to be informed that she had won a unique Gasan 80th Edition Ford Fiesta, the top prize that was given away as part of the Gasan 80th celebrations prize draw.
Karen Borg, 23, of Attard was studying when she took the call. A participant in this year’s Voices, she had been responsible for purchasing friends and family’s Voices tickets, which made all who purchased eligible for the Gasan’s 80th Prize Draw. Little did she know that hers would be the lucky ticket from about 10,000 in the urn that was drawn by Ira Losco.
Having correctly answered the general knowledge question, Ms Borg, who will graduate as a lawyer in two years’ time, was still in shock when she came to the Gasan showroom in Mriehel to be presented with the prize.
“It’s perfect!” is all she could say, clearly overcome with emotion and thrilled at the prospect of being able to drive away with the sporty looking, unique Fiesta.
David Gasan, managing director of Gasan Enterprises, made the presentation with Ira Losco looking on.
The second prize, a Geely YY125T-10 motor scooter, went to Edward Decelis of Gzira, who bought a Mazda 2 earlier this year. “I was driving when the phone rang,” he said.
“I immediately pulled to the side and was surprised with the news. It was a great satisfaction.”
