Malta Independent Sunday, 7 December 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Following a tendering process, the Malta Information Technology and Training Services and 2i Ltd have teamed up to introduce a new test automation software. The new software was launched during a very well attended seminar held at the MCST in Kalkara.

The new test automation software, Test Complete, developed by Automated QA, is good news for the local business and ICT market as the new software greatly facilities the often tricky testing phase that all software developers must undergo. The seminar discussed a number of issues that are of interest to all software developers and exposed myths surrounding test automation.

The audience was addressed by a number of experts in the field, including Jonathan Camilleri Bowman, director of 2i Ltd, Alex Attard CEO of MITTS, Igor Gershovich from Automated QA and Cedric Mallia from MITTS who delivered a presentation on the new software and what is actually required to successfully implement cost-effective automated testing.

The seminar also delved into advanced processes, methods, techniques and tools of software testing. Test automation is an indispensable part of many software development projects but which often proves tricky and problematic for software developers. Automated QA identified the need for specialised software that enables users to carry out effective test automation in an efficient and cost effective manner and invested resources into developing this much-needed solution.

The result of a great deal of research and hard work comes in the form of the newly developed software –Test Complete – that can be used as part of the QAU process. This new software will improve the quality of software development services and allow developers to dedicate less time and effort to regression testing and automating testing.
