Netherlands Business Network Celebrates successful first year

Malta Independent Saturday, 20 December 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

The Netherlands Business Network in Malta (NBNM) recently celebrated the end of its first and successful year with a festive drink at the ‘Carissa Sports & Wine-bar’ of the Intercontinental Hotel in St Julians, last Sunday 14 December. A complementary drink and snack were served. Dutch speaking people living and working in Malta were invited to this event.

The NBNM, set up early this year with the support of the Dutch Embassy, has held seven business lunches and four networking drinks. For the lunch events, former Maltese ambassador in The Hague Mr Adrian Strickland and other well-known experts were invited as speakers about a variety of subjects relevant to Dutch nationals and expats, including historical and current political and trade relations, real-estate options for expats, dispute resolution, EU development following the Lisbon treaty, and the new Single European Payment Area.

The NBNM is a dynamic, well connected network currently counting over 60 Dutch professionals, many of whom are involved with leading local and international companies, and all of whom actively participate in the Maltese society and economy. The network is open to all Dutch speaking people, who are economically active in Malta. Dutch nationality is not a requirement but close affinity with the Dutch language and culture of the ‘low lands’ is the main binding factor.
