GP Borg Group, the construction company based in Tal-Balal on the outskirts of San Gwann, has marked its 40th anniversary with a reception held at the Radisson SAS Baypoint, St Julian’s.
Back in 1968, George Borg and his father Carmelo first established C&G Borg Ltd and began gaining a strong reputation for their construction projects. Emphasising quality and superior workmanship from the outset, the company has since come to play a leading role in Malta’s building and civil engineering sector, employing a workforce of over 145.
Over the years, GP Borg has become one of the principal suppliers of ready-mixed concrete and manufacturers of hollow concrete blocks, as well as Predalle steel re-enforced pre-moulded concrete ceiling slabs. The years of experience and substantial investment in plant equipment and machinery, backed up by a qualified workforce of highly skilled builders and technical staff, have earned the company some of the most prestigious development projects.
GP Borg’s project management team works to agreed timeframes and budgets, ensuring the shortest possible completion times and they have acquired a solid reputation for delivering on their promise.
GP Borg has also invested heavily in acquiring land to extend its batching plant and production facility, office block, and construction yards. In addition, the company has continued to expand by offering a growing range of ancillary products, materials and services for the construction industry.
It has had the pleasure of working on a large number of prestigious projects both in the public and private sector, notably the Fortina Tower and Spa, various BOV branches, the Eden Century cinema complex, the Gallarija shopping complex, many hotels and other projects.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was the guest of honour at the reception and other distinguished guests included Archbishop Paul Cremona, Dr Carmelo Abela – representing the leader of the opposition, clients and employees and their families, among others.
GP Borg chose this occasion to unveil their new corporate identity, which was officially presented to the guests and the press. The new colours of the company were commissioned as a symbolic expression of renewal and growth, heralding in an ambitious future. The second generation of the Borg family, who are gradually taking the helm of the company, follows in the footsteps of their fathers, George and Paul Borg, embracing their legacy of honesty and dedication.
