The BOV Istrina Campaign has raised the sum of e40,000 this year. Donations were collected from children in schools across Malta and Gozo in a campaign that involved the distribution of over 7,000 piggy banks.
BOV piggy banks were also distributed to a selection of retail outlets across Malta and Gozo, where shoppers could make a donation to this worthy cause.
Edward Muscat Azzopardi, Head of Marketing at Bank of Valletta presented the money raised during the live broadcast of Istrina held last week. He was accompanied by BOV employees who participated in the campaign.
Presenting the cheque, Mr Muscat Azzopardi said “The participation and enthusiasm of schoolchildren was very encouraging this year, showing yet again the solidarity that children show with those members of society who are in need. The bank was encouraged by this excellent response and decided to make a further donation to bring the total amount to e40,000.
This year marked the fourth edition of the BOV Istrina Campaign, which confirms the bank’s commitment to the community. Supporting this yearly event forms part of the social aspect of the BOV Community Programme, through which the bank makes tangible financial contributions to the communities in which it operates.
