A 34-year-old woman from Sliema was jailed for 18 months suspended for three years after pleading guilty to grievously injuring Roxanne Cassar during a fight which broke out between them in Paceville.

The court, presided over by magistrate Saviour Demicoli, heard Janet Wendy Agius plead guilty to her involvement in a fight that broke out on 6 July at around 1.30am at Ball Street, Paceville.

After considering the accused’s early guilty plea, magistrate Demicoli gave her a suspended jail term.

Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted.
