Bank of Valletta has collaborated with the National War Museum Association in the restoration of three historic wartime vehicles. These are a US Army Dodge radio/reconnaissance vehicle, a 15 cwt Bedford truck and an Austin K2 ambulance.
Edward Muscat Azzopardi, Head Marketing at Bank of Valletta met Mario Falzon, Honorary Treasurer from the National War Museum Association in the presence of Luciano Mule Stagno, CEO of Heritage Malta to view the undergoing restoration works on the Austin K2 Ambulance.
“These vehicles played an important role in our country’s history and Bank of Valletta saw it fit to contribute towards the restoration of these vehicles that would have otherwise been lost. Bank of Valletta is proud to have been involved in this project that will ultimately see these vehicles on display at the national war museum”, said Mr Azzopardi.
Mr Falzon welcomed the Bank’s support for the project, which forms part of the museum’s broader framework to conserve relics representing Malta’s most dramatic and recent historical events.
Visitors of the War Museum in Valletta can now view these fully restored vehicles together with the array of other wartime artefacts and items on display.
