A Sicilian thief hid 53 bundles of wiring belonging to MIDI, after stealing them from a garage in Tignè, Sliema.
Sandro Lo Presti, 34, admitted before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera to stealing 60 bundles of wiring worth more than e2,329.37 during this month. He also admitted to relapsing.
The Ragusa-born man, who resides in a hotel in St Julian’s, hid the loot under a tree, thinking that it was safe, however, the police only found seven bundles of wiring when they went on site on Lo Presti’s indications.
Police Inspector Anna Mari Micallef prosecuted while Dr José Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli represented Lo Presti.
