The Gozo Culture Council of the Gozo Ministry will be presenting a series of events being launched as the Gran Castello summer nights 2009. The programme will include piano, jazz and choral concerts, contemporary theatre and an original musical score depicting the siege of Gozo way back in 1551.

The summer festival, being held at the historical St John’s Demi-Bastions in the Cittadella, will kick off on Friday, 10 July with a piano concert by pianist Clifford Borg and accompanied by Gozitan vocalist Miriam Christine Borg.

Borg will be playing music from his first album, Drifted and from his second, Origin. Miriam Christine Borg will be featuring alongside Borg with songs from Billie Holiday, Mia Martini, Amy Winehouse, Sandy and Junior and Elena Paparizou.
