Valletta FC are brimming with confidence and enthusiasm after their qualification to the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
They did this on Thursday night in Iceland where they drew 2-2 with Keflavik. They had won the first leg in Malta convincingly 3-0 to go through 5-2 on aggregate.
Now they will be facing St Patrick’s Athletic FC of Ireland in the next round and they are scheduled to play the first leg at Richmond Park in Ireland next Thursday.
The citizens are expected to have a good number of supporters, possibly travelling from Malta, though on an individual basis, and also from England, especially from London, to watch the match.
Dutch coach Ton Caanen did not arrive with the team yesterday, but from Keflavik he took a flight to Ireland via London, to spy on his team’s forthcoming opponents. Last night they were playing at home against Galway United in a League of Ireland match.
