Sliema were looking to maintain the momentum gained after their recent back to back victories against San Giljan and Neptunes with another victory against Sirens.

The Blues started sluggishly however with the first session containing just two goals from Valletta and Privitera.

Sliema regained their composure in the second session where they established a good lead with goals from Rizzo, Fodor, Rath and Valletta. Sirens responded through Borg and Mercieca but their challenge appeared to fade.

The third session saw Sliema continue dominating also winning by the identical score of 4-2 to enter the final session with an unassailable four goal advantage.

Sliema administered their advantage well in the final session with Rath particularly effective notching up four goals with Clint Debono also scoring a hattrick for Sirens.

Ta' Xbiex Mermaids Paradise were looking to stop Exiles' momentum to regain a slim chance in their quest for the Second Division Championship.

The first two sessions were closely contested affairs with the score ending 3-3 before the change of ends. Exiles had their strongman Chomakidze scoring twice whilst Ta' Xbiex found the net through Szalma, Szeles and Tabone.

Exiles appeared to have settled the match in the third session when they raced to a 3-0 lead but goals from Aquilina and Szeles made it a one goal game for the final session. The Sliema team again went two goals up through Sullivan but Szeles scored a penalty in the last two minutes although Exiles held on to notch up yet another victory making sure in the dying seconds with fine goals by Timmy Sullivan and Cousin.
