Birkirkara To make debut in women’s Champions League tomorrow

Local champions Birkirkara will be making their bow in the first ever European Champions League tomorrow, when they face 1 Dezembro in a Group C match.

The other two teams in the Group are Brondby and Cardiff.

The Stripes girls will then face Brondby on Saturday 1 August with the final qualifying match against Cardiff to be played on 4 August.

The Birkirkara squad, from among whom the team is to be chosen, is made up of the following players:

Goalkeepers: Tonina Dimech, Michelle Borg Zahra

Defenders: Kirsty Vella, Rosann Xerri, Charlene Schembri

Midfielders: Yanika Micallef, Chantal Marie Fenech, Kimberley Parnis, Stefania Farrugia, Rachel Cuschieri, Sacha Camilleri, Isabelle Mazzitelli, Sacha Vella, Maria Rosaria Cardona, Ruth Steer Chetham

Forwards: Lucienne Desira, Catherine Camilleri, Lynn Fenech, Eleonora Agliano, Davina Pomroy, Kelly Agius Pace.
