According to the club’s official website, Valletta FC yesterday secured the services of international striker Terence Scerri from champions Hibernians. The 25-year old Scerri, who was last season’s BOV Premier League top scorer with 26 goals, signed a five-year contract with the Citizens.
Scerri’s move away from Hibernians, after eight seasons, was imminent after he had been suspended for 28 days by the club lately. Sliema Wanderers were in talks with Hibernians for his possible signing, but as an agreement was not reached, Valletta nipped in to finalise a deal.
Valletta announced that Terence Scerri, together with club President Victor Sciriha and sponsor Giovanni Capitta will today travel to Holland to join the Valletta squad who are currently on a one-week training camp under the guidance of coach Ton Caanen.
