The final score was a bit harsh on Sirens as Neptunes were given a testing time by their opponents.
For the first part of the match it seemd as if Sirens were going to repeat the first round result, but Neptunes prevailed after the break, to turn the score around and hold on to their top position in the standings, although Sliema will be meeting San Giljan today, and the champions could go back to sharing the top spot.
Neptunes had Edward Cachia on a game suspension, and this pure defender was sorely missed, as Sirens seemed to have the measure of their adversaries in the first two sesions.
Sirens could only score once from five man ups in their favour, and Neptunes had eleven extra player occasions, from which they scored six times.
Steve Camilleri opened the score for Neptunes, but Sirens had an admirable reply as Attila Baranji twice, and Clint Mercieca in between, gave them a double advantage. Matthew Pisani and Camilleri tied the score for Neptunes, but Ryan Mock came off the bench to put Sirens back in front. In the final seconds of the session Leo Sottani levelled the score for Neptunes.
In the second period Jurgen Borg struck for Sirens, with Camilleri notching his third goal for Neptunes. Sirens were still picking away, and Paul Privitera and a Tamas Marcz lob again put Sirens on a two goal lead. Till the half time break Nicky Lanzon scored twice for Neptunes, but Mercieca found the net for Sirens in between, and at the interval Sirens were on a slim 8-7 advantage.
Neptunes became more menacing in the third session, as they had Aljosa Kunac, Sottani and Camilleri to power them in front. A Baranji penalty throw reduced the arrears for Sirens, as they started the final quarter 9-10 down. Kunac put Neptunes on a double lead, only for Charles Zammit to pick his spot from a distance, as Sirens cut down on their deficit.
Late in the match Kunac made sure of a Neptunes win. with Camilleri grabbing his nap hand in the final seconds, as Sirens threw everything in attack.

The two points consolidated Exiles' top position in the standings, as they powered their way into a strong first session lead, and they continued to increase their advantage in the next two sessions, with Adrian Cachia, who came in for Alan Borg Cole in goal, in the last two periods, also saving a penalty by Otters' Karol Baco.
Otters made their presence felt in the last session as Exiles began to ease up, with a large lead in their favour, with Peter Szabo grabbing his hat trick, but at the other end it was Aurelien Cousin who was banging in his five goals, with David Pace Lupi complementing with four of his own.
Exiles scored on three occasions, from seven man ups in their favour, but Otters, who had an extra man in the water on six occasions, didn't find the opposing net once.
