The directors of the Bay Street Tourist Complex recently appointed Mario DeBattista chief executive officer of the complex. Mr DeBattista has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in this field for over 32 years in food and beverage, front office management and senior management positions.
In his new role, Mr DeBattista will be responsible for the day to day running of the complex, operations and creating synergies between the different operators in the complex including the hotel, retail, entertainment and various food and beverage operators. Other key areas, include, business development, customer service and identification of new areas of operation.
Speaking about his new appointment Mr DeBattista said, “To hold the post of CEO of such a unique and exciting project is extremely demanding but also a great personal challenge. However, with the backing of the directors, tenants, staff and a clear strategy for the future, our objectives will definitely be met.”
He added, “From inception, the concept of Bay Street was and remains a destination for all. A destination where hotel guests, shoppers and diners are entertained in a safe, clean and exciting environment. In my new role I will be ensuring that this philosophy will remain at the centre of all our endeavours.”
Prior to his appointment Mr DeBattista was general manager of the Suncrest Hotel. Prior to this post Mr DeBattista held various posts within the Corinthia Group of Companies and Corinthia Hotels International. These include among others hotel manager of the 5-star Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay and Marina Resort, general manager of the Jerma Palace Hotel, general executive manager of Corinthia Elksar, Susse Tunisia and general manager of Corinthia Chich Khan, Hammamet, Tunisia.
