The secret is finally out! Olivia Dow produced and directed a 3 Act ballet, ‘Secret of the Crystal Ball’ held on Sunday 2 August at Sir Temi Zammit Theatre University of Malta. The ballet featured Ballet Russe de Malte (a cast of students from the Olivia Dow School of Russian Ballet) with some guest appearances.

The ballet had a few overwhelming surprises throughout the Acts, starting from the Field Scene with the Haystacks suddenly dancing after being perfectly still through quite a few musical numbers. During the allegro Market Scene, the senior performers gave out flowered brooches to the audience. There were various entertaining characters, who were guests to the Palace Ball in Act III. The stunning costumes in the Court Scene of the Ladies in Waiting, the agile Jester, the graceful Queen, the wonderful performance by the 8 Princesses and the great effort in every pas de deux of the Prince with his pretty villager complimented the ballet show.

The ballet ended in a grand finale with the Wedding Scene, where most of the performers entered through the auditorium before going on stage followed by Olivia Dow accompanied by the youngest performers to the delight of the audience.
