Microsoft Malta and Bank of Valletta plc, Malta's largest financial institution, announced that BOV has selected Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 as its core General Ledger application to keep pace with growing demand and set up the company for further future success.

Working with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Crimsonwing Malta, BOV will roll out Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 General Ledger, replacing an existing legacy system and bring dynamic new information management tools to the bank's management and employees.

“We are very pleased to be working with Microsoft on this project for Bank of Valletta,” said James Bonello, Managing Director for Crimsonwing. “We look forward to leveraging our Microsoft Dynamics expertise to help Bank of Valletta streamline their processes around the new General Ledger application. The robust capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics AX, coupled with Crimsonwing's implementation experience will enable BOV to obtain a rapid return on investment as well as support their long-term business goals.”

Microsoft won the project following a rigorous vetting process to land this important contract. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 got the nod based on the overall integration of the solution; the ability to address the breadth of BOV's functional needs; its robust, scalable platform that allows for future growth; and sheer user friendliness, giving users ready access to critical data through a familiar, intuitive interface similar to Microsoft Office.

“Harnessing the potential of the latest technology is an integral part of our strategy to ensure that BOV is constantly a step ahead of the market. We're proud to have made the shift to Microsoft Dynamics AX2009, confident that it will contribute towards our continuous process optimisation,” said Mr Victor Denaro, Chief Officer Information Technology at BOV.

BOV's Chief Officer Finance, Elvia George, commented that “The growth and diversification of the bank's business highlighted the need for an integrated central financial repository. We are positive that the new MS Dynamics AX 2009 will meet the diverse needs of our various users since it provides the flexibility of analysing the financial data according to the requirements of the users as well as having the potential of scalability to meet the demand of future growth in the business.”

“Microsoft Dynamics, in this case AX 2009 has consistently proved to be the technology of choice for rapidly expanding companies looking to take their business to the next level with a fully integrated ERP solution that provides a scalable, extensible platform for future growth. BOV recognised this as a strategic opportunity and we welcome the opportunity to work with them on this and other projects going forward. This is surely for Microsoft a significant project in terms of size and strategic importance,” said Pierre Mallia, Microsoft Malta General Manager.
