Malta Independent Wednesday, 16 September 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Banif Bank (Malta) officially opened its seventh branch in Naxxar, yesterday.

Banif Bank started its operations twenty-months ago when the first branch was opened in St Julian’s.

Banif Bank is owned by Portugal’s Banif Financial Group and prominent Maltese investors, who had set the target of opening between 20 and 25 branches within the first five years.

Apart from its Naxxar branch, Banif has already opened branches in Victoria, Qormi, St Julian’s, San Gwann, St Paul’s Bay and Attard.

The bank intends to open the eighth branch in Fgura next week.

During his address Banif Bank chairman, Joseph Sammut highlighted that this is a significant milestone for the bank’s very recent history.

“This is an important phase of Banif’s implementation plan in pursuit of its overall objectives, to become a major player in Malta’s financial services sector - a sector that has a major role to play in putting the national economy on the desired growth path,” said Mr Sammut.

The bank, whose motto is ‘The power of believing’, is providing an efficient and reliable service to the personal and business community in Malta. Banif strives to constantly achieve the highest standards of efficiency, competitiveness, service, quality and client satisfaction.

Corporate and Social Responsibility is high on the bank’s agenda and is honoured to contribute towards the local community at the initial stages of the bank operations.

“We are satisfied that within a short time we forged excellent relationships with a number of entities. We are committed to contribute in a modest way to the success of the initiatives undertaken by local organisations in aid of the less fortunate and needy members of society,” commented Mr Sammut.
