Melita Mobile is the first mobile operator in Malta to absorb all VAT and Excise tax on prepaid mobile credit thus giving prepaid subscribers more than 5% extra on each top up and their full money’s worth for every single Euro topped up.
Call rates and SMS rates on Melita’s pre-paid tariffs will remain unchanged but effectively, the absorption of VAT and excise tax will reduce the customers’ spend on mobile telephony and will contribute to greater savings.
In line with living its promise to offer cheaper, simpler and better mobile services, all Melita Mobile prepaid subscribers can benefit from the introduction of this new measure with immediate effect. Melita Mobile is taking the unprecedented step of absorbing the cost of all the taxes that are levied on mobile phone top up cards and, starting from now, whenever a prepaid Melita subscriber tops up a mobile account they will get back the exact top up value shown on the card.

Melita Mobile offers a selection of four different prepaid top up values – e5, e10, e20 and e50. Subscribers topping up with any of these amounts will receive the full value of what they pay in mobile credit, with no tax deductions whatsoever.
