BOV Launches loyalty rewards programme

Malta Independent Friday, 30 October 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Bank of Valletta has announced the introduction of an innovative loyalty programme intended to reward customers who choose to pay for their purchases with a BOV VISA Platinum Card, a BOV Visa Gold Card or a BOV Visa Flypass Business Card.

All customers who have one of these premium credit cards from Bank of Valletta are automatically eligible to participate in the BOV Loyalty Rewards Programme.

Participation in the BOV Loyalty Rewards Programme is free of charge and premium credit cardholders will be rewarded with one BOV Point for every e1 spent using their card. The cardholders will also be able to keep track of the BOV Points earned on their monthly credit card statement. BOV Points can be redeemed against Air Malta KMiles or the annual card fee.

Speaking about the new loyalty programme, Michael Galea, Executive Head Cards Business at BOV said “Through the BOV Loyalty Rewards Programme, we would like to encourage our premium card holders to shift more of their spending onto their BOV credit card. The more they use their card to pay, the more BOV Points they will earn and the more rewards they can benefit from”.

Mr Galea added that credit card payments presented the cardholder with added benefits when compared to cash payments. Automatic purchase protection insurance on the items purchased using the credit card is one of these added value features that positions card payments as a stronger proposition to the customer.

Mr Galea added that Bank of Valletta offers a full range of debit and credit cards. He said that more and more people are today choosing their debit or credit card to pay for their purchases not only locally and abroad but also when shopping online. “The BOV Loyalty Rewards Programme is yet another added value benefit that is intended to reward cardholders who make use of this efficient payment instrument,” concluded Mr. Galea.
