Work At The Point almost complete

Malta Independent Sunday, 28 February 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

“Work at The Point has reached a very advanced stage and the coming weeks will see work on all the flagship stores and common areas draw to a close” announced general manager Edwin Borg.

Situated at Tigné Point in Sliema, The Point is the latest and largest addition to Malta’s retail industry. Spread across a footprint of 14,000 m², with retail space over three levels, it will feature 45 stores representing some of the most renowned fashion and family brands on the market.

“The Point is the next step in the evolution of retail in Malta and this is due to the number of advantages that this destination offers,” explains Mr Borg. “Many of the brands located at The Point do not merely have a presence but are proper flagship stores, representing a host of international labels under one roof. At the far end of the mall are the anchor outlets that reflect the continental model upon which The Point has been designed and mapped out. The wide walkways and common areas, as well as a spacious atrium, will all contribute to a greater shopping experience. The inclusion of a major supermarket as one of these anchor outlets makes visiting The Point a complete one-stop-shop experience,” he added.

Another strong feature of The Point is that it is a destination that offers a car-free environment, making it safe for all the family. This is

possible because all traffic entering the development has been routed underground, where it is served by Sliema’s largest car park to the benefit all visitors to the shopping, dining and entertainment facilities both within the Mall and around the adjacent Pjazza Tigné.

Towards the end of last year, work on The Point advanced considerably when all the mechanical and electrical installations, and the finishes of the common areas, were being closed off. The current phase, the last in the process, sees the tenants finishing and fitting out their respective stores.

“To date, we are proud to have kept in line with our commitment to deliver one of the major and most forward-looking shopping venues in Malta and in so doing, we have spared no expense and left no stone unturned in securing the highest of standards,” concluded Mr Borg.
