Holy Week Activities in Gozo

Gozo is preparing to welcome the thousands of Maltese who cross over for Holy Week activities as from Wednesday when there will be various exhibitions and cultural activities by associations and individuals.

They include Last Supper displays at Victoria, Nadur, Xewkija, and Xaghra, and will be open until Easter Sunday between 5.30pm and 8pm on weekdays, and from 9am to noon and 5.30pm to 8pm on Saturday, Sunday and on Good Friday.

There is a contemporary art exhibition by French artist Colette Marchant at the Cittadella, and another by the Inspire Foundation in a private residence in Republic Street, Victoria.

On Good Friday in the afternoon there will be processions, pageants and band marches in Victoria, Xaghra, Nadur and Zebbug. Processions with the statue of the Risen Christ will be held on Easter Sunday morning in Victoria, Xaghra, Nadur, Kercem and Xewkija. A procession will also be held at Qala and Zebbug in the afternoon.
