The Labour Party’s principal policy in trade is to enable employees and businesses to work with the least possible bureaucracy, Labour leader Joseph Muscat said during a visit to Simon J. Camilleri Holdings Ltd in Qormi.

The company groups the Institute of Health and Safety, Medilink International Fire Tech Ltd and Park Well International, employing some 100 persons. Chief executive Simon J. Camilleri showed Dr Muscat around.

Mr Camilleri said the company had invested heavily in its new premises in Qormi, where they were coordinating and keeping continuous communication with their offices in Tripoli and Benghazi. In Libya the company provides emergency health services to various international companies, including some which operate in the oil and gas sectors.

The company, which Dr Muscat described as a model for others for looking beyond European markets for expansion, aims to continue expanding both in Malta and abroad and has various new services in the pipeline, related to the health and safety sectors.
