It was a unique concert organised by St Joseph Band Club of Ghaxaq, together with Wilfred Spiteri, in Ghaxaq on 28 May. The band that was invited to perform was none other than the Scandinavian Pink Floyd Project, from Denmark, who gave a three-hour concert during which they played songs by the legendary group Pink Floyd.
The concert was organised as part of the celebrations of the feast of St Joseph in Ghaxaq, held every year on the first Sunday of June.
The Scandinavian Pink Floyd Project in Malta consisted of 14 members: 10 performed on stage, while the other four were responsible for the lighting and sound required. Apart from the band, a children’s choir also took part as an accompaniment to the band during the songs ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ and ‘Run like Hell’.
It is estimated that a crowd of 10,000 people attended the concert, which raised €10,994 in aid of the Dar tal-Providenza.
