EU member states are working towards meeting the increasingly stringent rules covering food hygiene and safety at work, as well as the prevention of Legionnaires’ Disease.
These laws have either already been enforced, or are about to be implemented throughout the European Union. Malta is no exception, and since it is one of the countries in which the laws are about to be implemented, Chemichal Globe Ltd is taking the lead in guiding the relevant sectors to attain and retain the provisions stipulated by law.
Chemichal Globe Ltd, in collaboration with the Malta Association of Environmental Health Officers, is holding a half-day seminar entitled Managing & Controlling HACCP/Legionnaires’ Disease at Le Meridien St Julian’s Hotel & Spa on 28 July.
The seminar is to draw attention to the guidelines that those involved in the production, handling and selling of food within the hospitality, health and education sectors need to adopt.
These procedures include sanitation measures, record-keeping, monitoring, staff training, risk assessment, fire and evacuation and first aid. The seminar will also highlight measures to prevent Legionnaires’ Disease from spreading through un-serviced air-conditioning units, hydraulic systems and swimming pools.
