Luxury brand Corinthia Hotels has appointed seasoned hotelier Christopher H. Newberry as general manager of its first five-star hotel in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum – The Corinthia Hotel Khartoum, also known as the Burj Al Fateh.
Christopher Newberry is a highly regarded veteran of the international hotel industry and has to date enjoyed a successful career as a general manager and senior executive within the hospitality sector. From an early career with Hilton International as executive assistant manager of the London Hilton on Park Lane, he was promoted to the positions of general manager of the Madagascar Hilton and then moved on to the opening of the Yaoundé Hilton in the Cameroon in a similar position.
Among other positions he has been general manager for the Paris Disney theme park and then joined Kempinski, where he was general manager of hotels in Bombay and Beijing.
