Bay Street organised a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and devoted itself to raising awareness and educating the general public about breast cancer, its prevention and screening.
The two-day event was a huge success that blended education, awareness, fund-raising and entertainment and resulted in the generous sum of €1,600 being donated by members of the public in aid of organisations that help breast cancer patients and their families.
A number of organisations, including the Breast Cancer Support Group, the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Department, the National Breast Screening Organisation and Breast Care Nurse, took part in Bay Street’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, along with entertainers and artistes who helped provide an enjoyable atmosphere for those present.
