Charles Inguanez, Malta’s Ambassador to Russia, on Tuesday addressed a seminar organized by BSI Group, one of the leading Russian travel agents with office representations across Russia.

The meeting was addressed also by the MTA Moscow representative, Anthony Caruana, who gave a presentation focusing on what Malta has to offer to the Russian tourist.

While giving an overview about the visa possibilities for Russians to come to Malta, Ambassador Inguanez explained in particular the visa regime applicable to persons who come to Malta for study purposes. This long stay visa, commonly called D visa, permits the foreigner to stay in Malta for more than 90 days and also allows the person concerned to move freely in the territory of other Schengen Member States, as if the visitor has a multiple entry visa, while studying in Malta. The seminar was held in the Conference Hall of Turgenev Bibliotheca in central Moscow and was attended by tour operators specializing in education tourism.
