Pampers Joins Unicef in campaign against tetanus

Malta Independent Friday, 3 December 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Pampers, a trusted name in baby care for nearly 40 years has once again partnered with Unicef in its world wide initiative to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) in developing nations. Over the past four years both Pampers and Unicef have been making a big difference in helping protect the mothers and their babies in developing countries with the 1 Pack = 1 Vaccine campaign.

From mid-November 2010 and for the following three months or until stocks last, for every specially marked Pampers product purchased in Malta, Pampers will donate €0.053 to enable Unicef to contribute to the provision of a life-saving vaccine to a woman of childbearing age in less industrialised countries. Maltese mothers and fathers will also have the chance to participate in this worldwide initiative and contribute towards such a good cause by simply buying a specially marked Pampers product.

Thanks to millions of people worldwide, in 2010, 100 million women and their babies in 21 countries across the developing world will have benefited from a life saving vaccine protecting them against the needlessly fatal disease maternal and newborn tetanus. In the 40 countries where maternal and neonatal tetanus still poses a threat, there are 170 million women still needing help to get protected against newborn tetanus.
