At a Christmas reception for employees held this week at the Betsson offices in Ta’ Xbiex, CEO Magnus Silfverberg presented a special kind of cheque to the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
Betsson and its employees decided to share their good fortune with those less fortunate by donating the money spent on Christmas gifts for employees.
Betsson donated the value of the Christmas gifts to charities that are dedicated to improving the lives of children in difficulty.
The 204 employees at the Malta offices chose to donate the equivalent of their gifts to Puttinu Cares Foundation, while the Stockholm office opted for UNICEF and the Kiev office for IWCK, a local charity that supports children in need in Kiev.
Betsson will as such be donating approximately €10,000 in total, of which €6,500 goes to the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
Another Betsson initiative aimed to benefit the important work of Puttinu Cares is the sponsorship of cancer survivor Thomas Cremona in his quest to break the cross-Atlantic rowing world record next month and to collect funds for Puttinu Cares.
