Following the confiscated containers by Malta Customs last November with a total of 13,000 counterfeit print cartridges, HP thanked the involved authorities for their vigilance and continued commitment in the fight against fakes.

The seized items, which originated from China and the UAE, have been analysed and authenticated as counterfeits by HP ACF product experts. “These recent successes are an important result of the intensified co-operation between Hewlett Packard and Maltese Customs at Malta Freeport. Currently, steps to further strengthen this fruitful collaboration are being planned,” said Mirza Cordalija HP IPG PSS .

In order to keep enhancing the protection of its customers from fraudulent, potentially dangerous counterfeit printing supplies, HP is closely working together with Customs authorities all across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Spain, for example, HP recently supported authorities in seizing 3,750 counterfeits and trained more than 30 Customs officers.

HP provides several direct ways for anyone who wishes to report any suspicions about counterfeit products sold or offered.
